Eli, you are a character. Thank you, thank you very much.....
Afortunado’s Elijah The Gift was a gift to our children. Little did we know that he would be so much more! With lots of hard work, consistency, and love he is turning out to be one amazing dog.
As a pup, he was never afraid of anything. He learned to obey and respect us and our home through consistent discipline, supervision and affection. We sometimes asked ourselves, “What were we thinking! Did we need another thing to discipline and take care of?”
Elijah has grown into our hearts. He and Troy regularly attend four classes a week at our local Kennel Club. He takes conformation, obedience and agility (Eli's favorite). Before long, Elijah was entered into his first Conformation show at the age of fourteen months. Shelley showed him in the Green Bay Packerland Kennel Club Show and Eli won Reserve Winners Dog!
Elijah is a very affectionate dog with lots of playful energy. He loves his jobs around the home, such as retrieving Dad’s paper in the morning, pulling a sled full of wood to our door for the fire that heats our home, bringing and picking up things for us, and working as our alarm clock throughout the day. Play time is Elijah’s “me time” and he loves all the attention that is given to him! If he does not get his “me time” due to a change in the schedule, he will let you know by stealing your things and dropping them at your feet. For “me time” he loves to retrieve his buoy, go for walks, play keep away with other dogs, and his favorite game is goofing around with his litter mates - our three kids.
For a young, active dog, Elijah is very well-behaved. We may not know what lies ahead, but whatever is in store for us we are ready for the challenge. Afortunado’s Elijah The Gift is a strong, courageous, intelligent dog who is without a doubt our own, very special gift.
